I don't like the idea of being spied on, however I also do not like the idea that some bomb-making idiot may be living next door to me either!
I like freedom, I also like living free! sometimes these are not concomitant playmates. I can be free enough to disagree with any point of view, but I should not be free to make a dastardly attack against those with whom I disagree. A level of concern is necessary to form a free-society that is at least relatively safe.
I do not see much in the way of options to looking into the electronic maze of information which is out there; the pace has to be as swift to combat terrorism as it is for the terrorists to commit their acts.
Where is the median?
Was the bush administration wrong for setting this into play? Is the Obama administration wrong for continuing the practice? Should we seek the answers after another 9/11/2001-type of attack?
Can we allow for the indecisiveness of political positioning to place our citizens into even more danger as they attempt to distract us with lies?
I am skeptical, but I do not know if I feel as upset about this as do so many other people. After the cowardly-based attacks of 9/11/2001, we were open for any form of protection; why are we now stepping away from that position? Is this really new for our government to do?
Questions should start conversations, answers should offer solutions.
I stand for safety-in freedom, but how much freedom is too much when it can be abused even by those who would destroy us for having it?
Help our country find an answer that works for all of us.
