U.S. Senate candidate Michelle Nunn (D. GA) scored a big endorsement today:
Huge news: we're endorsing Michelle Nunn for the U.S. Senate race in Georgia. Not only will she be a great senator for the people of Georgia, but she will also be the first woman senator elected from the Peach State -- if we get behind her today.
And let me tell you, Michelle can win this race. She's tied for the lead in the polls in one of our only chances to win a GOP Senate seat.
Michelle is the CEO of the Points of Light Foundation, the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. Points of Light engages millions of volunteers each year to help solve their communities' most pressing challenges.
Now Michelle is fighting to win the open Senate seat in Georgia. And EMILY's List is ecstatic to give her our full support in this race that could decide whether Democrats keep control of the Senate.
Make a contribution to Michelle Nunn's Senate campaign now, and give her the early investment it will take to win in Georgia in 2014:

It's important that we elect a Democratic woman like Michelle, but it's just as important that we keep her right-wing, extremist opponents out of the Senate. Think about it this way. If you're looking for the next Todd Akin, Georgia's the place.
Rep. Paul Broun called evolution and the Big Bang "lies from the pit of hell" and voted against the House's 20-week abortion ban because he thought it didn't go far enough.
Rep. Phil Gingrey thinks outdated, misogynist gender roles should be taught in public school and declared that Todd Akin's "legitimate rape" comments were "partly right."
And then there's Karen Handel, whose time at Susan G. Komen for the Cure is notorious for her tirade against Planned Parenthood -- calling them "a bunch of backyard school thugs" and trying to defund their cancer screenings.
No matter who the Republicans nominate, there's no doubt: Michelle needs our help to beat any and all of her ultraconservative anti-woman GOP opponents -- and help keep the Senate out of GOP hands.
Stand with Michelle Nunn -- make a contribution to her campaign today:
