A spacecraft has found traces of surface water and it is speculated that it's source is in the interior of the Moon.
Not really surprising as it is postulated that the mass of the Moon was formed when Earth was forming and the Moon became a mass of material that did not coalesce around our core. So there being water on the Moon comes as no surprise.
India's Chandrayaan-1 lunar spacecraft surveying the surface of the Moon has found water.
Evidence of water spotted on the moon's surface by a sharp-eyed spacecraft likely originated from an unknown source deep in the lunar interior, scientists say.
The find — made by NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper instrument aboard India's Chandrayaan-1 probe — marks the first detection of such "magmatic water" from lunar orbit and confirms analyses performed recently on moon rocks brought to Earth by Apollo astronauts four decades ago, researchers said.
I wonder what it tastes like?
