This is a shame…Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris has announced that he will not run against Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, although he is open to changing his mind in the event that either Madison School Board Member Mary Burke or State Senator Kathleen Vinehout decide against a run against Walker.
This now leaves only two Democrats who are reportedly considering running against Walker, neither of which are progressive-minded. Mary Burke appears to be liberal on social issues, but she appears to be a corporatist when it comes to economic issues. Kathleen Vinehout, on the other hand, appears to be liberal on economic issues, but she has a mixed record on social issues.
No Democrat has announced his or her intention to run against Walker at this time.
