German intelligence has now confirmed that Syrian Army soldiers shot their way into hospitals and took babies from incubators and left them for dead.
DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'RE BEING TOLD?
THEY TOOK BABIES FROM INCUBATORS. AND LEFT THEM FOR DEAD.
THINK. ABOUT. THIS. Picture the babies in your mind.
• A Syrian woman has testified before Congress that she witnessed this.
• Citizens For a Free Syria have confirmed this.
• German intelligence confirms this.
• NPR is reporting this.
• The Los Angeles Times is reporting this.
• It'll be over in weeks, maybe days.
• The Washington Post reports a version of it.
• The St. Louis Dispatch reports it in the heartland.
• A leaked U.S. diplomatic cable says this is true.

UPDATE: My purpose in making this post was to make my case and do whatever one little post on DKos can do to affect government policy, and to influence it in this case to not use military strikes against Syria in response to the apparent chemical weapons attacks in Damsacus. (Testing on UN inspectors' samples begins today.)
There is every chance in the world that I went about attaining that goal wrong. The incubator story is not the same as the story of the attack in Damascus. I recognize that, I did not mean to make an exact comparison. I apologize for what many people are seeing as a very callous treatment of very real suffering in Syria. It was the farthest thing from my intention, and makes me sick to my stomach that it came across that way. I apologize for not being more careful, and for even giving that impression.
I don't think it serves anyone but me for me to delete this, so I won't. I would ask that the discussion focus on the point I hoped to make, regarding horrible atrocity stories, and how history has shown us that they can be and have been used dishonestly to drum up support of disastrous military decisions, and that because of that demonstrable lession we should move very cautiously regarding this story. (In this case, in looks as if the fundamental problem will end up revolving around who carried the attacks out.) If you don't want to - I understand.
