Welcome to the Wednesday Coffee Hour here on Street Prophets. This is an open thread where we can hang out and talk about what’s going on in our worlds.
Today I would like to share some photos of a greenhouse that I am sharing with my dear friend Mose.
Mose found this carport frame for sell on Craigslist for $100.00! He purchased the plastic for $80.00 along with some of the blocks for $1.50. We scavenged up the other blocks. It is a work in progress. I will be attempting some Fall and Winter gardening this year.
Mose also found these free plants on Craigslist. Some tomatoes, eggplant, squash and watermelons.
While several of these are not your typical Fall and Winter plants, we thought "Hey they are free, why not give them a try in the greenhouse?"
In my other gardens:
We had a very dry Spring and Summer here in Oregon. This violetta artichoke plant has suffered as a result. It is known to thrive best in mild winters and cool, foggy summers. I have my fingers crossed that it will. Perhaps I will move it to the greenhouse as they do not like frost or snow.
These are a couple of my brussel sprout plants growing in one of our hoop houses. They are two years old.
Indian Corn.
Not quite ready.
Some of the puniest tomatoes I have ever grown.
Not even big enough to fry!
A brussel sprout plant that the deer munched on and uprooted.
A tomato plant eaten by deer. We did not install our deer netting this year. Big mistake!
Are you planning Fall or Winter garden? Do you have a hoop house or a greenhouse? We'd love to see your photos, hear your about your gardening and advice!
Now for the most important question of the day - What's for dinner?
p.s. It is #boobiewednesday!
