My last day. Lucky you.
As with pgm01 I found last night's maybe not finale satisfying on a number of levels. I'll not spoil it.
Equally I've thought our boys to be right on top of the main issue here as in other places and their commentary spot on. I must admit that being part of a huge majority is not a role I'm used to playing. Despite the actual centrism of my beliefs I've been castigated and radicalized by a .01% oligarcy who use their power and money to feign a consensus that benefits them and excludes the rest of us.
So maybe some good will come of this after all.
Comedy Central's video feed is working again, but that only underscores the fragility of our connection to each other.
I'm over 120 years old and I remember shortwave and carbon paper, and mimeographs and copiers, and faxes and morse code for that matter and I assure you the truth can not be suppressed.
Why?
It doesn't change.
I'm the same as I ever was. The struggle is the same, the only thing that changes are the names of the players.
Yet I sense a new stupidity, or maybe the same old stupidity worn thin and frayed from overuse. The debunked arguments, the cliched posturing, the naked and transparent hypocrisy and graft laid bare because of the jaded insularity and narcissism, the incestous inbreeding and nepotism of our elite idiots.
Pre-revolutionary French courtiers and aristocrats could have taken lessons from our Beltway Bozos.
The most extravagant idea that can be born in the head of a political thinker is to believe that it suffices for people to enter, weapons in hand, among a foreign people and expect to have its laws and constitution embraced. No one loves armed missionaries; the first lesson of nature and prudence is to repulse them as enemies.(1792)
Duh.
Tonight on The Daily Show Jon hosts Michael C. Hall and on The Colbert Report Stephen has
John Prine. It will probably include one of those musical segments I think don't work in a half hour format.
Oh, and we did stuff today-

You know, because I have other sites and I can.
I expect there will be a race at Monza this weekend and the start of the America's Cup, but if my pen is still that does not mean I have forgotten you, my friends, or that the spirit of revolution does not live on.
