Michael Bloomberg has been the Mayor of NYC for 3 terms, of which 1 was illegal because he ran after overturning the 2 votes we had made on term limits. Christine Quinn and the NYC Council Members, but not all, voted to overturn term limits so Bloomberg and they could run for a 3rd term.
Mayor Bloomberg has been a dictator. He doesn't like people being able to purchase 32 ounce sodas so he outlawed them, but lost in a court challenge. He outlawed transfats (I know they're bad but I don't like being told what to eat or drink). He instituted Stop & Frisk and the monitoring of Muslims. He wanted to put tolls on Bridges that have been free since they were first built but lost this also. The middle class have left NYC in droves since he became Mayor with his taxing homeowers on water and increasing taxes on homes. He has closed schools and reopened them as charters and has made testing the main reason for a student to get promoted. I only stand with him on 1 issue and that's gun control.
Bloomberg started out as a Democrat but when he saw he couldn't win the Mayor's office as a Dem he switched to Republican and then because an Independent.
Everyone has expected Bloomberg to endorse Christine Quinn based on her doing his bidding as Council Speaker but there were rumors that he even asked Hillary Clinton to run for Mayor but she turned him down. Now it's being reported that Bloomberg has stated that if Bill DeBlasio is the winner of the primary this coming Tuesday he will endorse Joe Lhota (who already has the Koch Brothers backing and who I previously wrote about) who will probably be the winner of the Republicon primary. You see, Bloomberg dislikes DeBlasio because DeBlasio was one of the Plaintiffs in the Term Limits case (so was I). Bloomberg showed his dislike for DeBlasio when DeBlasio won the Public Advocate race and Bloomberg slashed his budget by 50%. Here is what's been told the the New York Post, a rightwing birdcage liner owned by Rupert Murdock:
City Hall insiders say that Mayor Michael Bloomberg will endorse Republican Joe Lhota for mayor if Bill de Blasio wins the Democratic nomination, who Bloomberg fears will dismantle his 12-year legacy, the Post reports: http://bit.ly/...
I got this off of a daily news report I get from a local called "City & State" and as if Bloomberg's legacy, I hope DeBlasio does win the Primary so he can dismantle it.
