Alice Walton mugshot
On October 7, 2011, Walmart heiress Alice Walton was arrested on suspicion of DUI:
Authorities say Walton was arrested by a Texas Highway Patrol trooper just before 10:00 p.m. October 7th. Walton was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 20 inside a construction zone, and a field sobriety test showed Walton to be intoxicated, troopers say.

She later refused a breath test.

Walton faces one charge of driving while intoxicated, first offense, a class B misdemeanor. According to jail records, she was booked into jail shortly after 11 p.m. Oct 7th, and released on $1,000 bond around 8:40 a.m. the following morning.

Earlier this week, those charges were dismissed because the arresting officer is unavailable to testify:
Prosecutors in Texas have dropped a 2011 drunken driving citation against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. heiress Alice Walton.

Officials said Monday that the highway patrol officer who pulled over Walton has been suspended and won't be available to testify.

Parker County, Texas, Prosecutor John Forest told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://is.gd/... ) that his office had two years to pursue the case against Walton. But the trooper's suspension won't be over by the Oct. 7 deadline.

The officer has been suspended since February. No word on how many other cases have been dismissed due to his absence.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
