Man takes a nap on a bench
So House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has announced that the House may not go on vacation the week after next as it had originally planned, validating the worst fears of Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger:
“Oh my gosh, it’s going to be long,” said Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois. “It’s going to be really crazy. I won’t be shocked if we’re here during the week we were going to be off. It’s going to be an intense couple of months between the [continuing resolution] and the debt limit.”
Yes, oh my gosh! Oh my gosh, House Republicans might cancel the vacation that they had scheduled two weeks from now, even though they just went on a five week vacation. What dedication! They are willing to give up a vacation for no other reason than that they have thus far proved unable to pass any sort of legislation that would prevent a government shutdown on Sept. 30.

And not only that, they might even have "an intense couple of months" thereafter. What a commendable display of dedication to their jobs. Seriously, is this not what you think of when you think of selfless public servants? We're so very lucky to have them.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
