Polls? They mean nothing to me. I got a good grip on Detroit's situation and I'll prevail in the end.
Looks like Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, like other Tea Party Governors as Paul LePage, Tom Corbett and Rick Scott, is vulnerable for re-election.
Although this is one poll and it is September 2013, Snyder will most definitely be in a tough re-election race regardless:

LANSING, MI -- Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, fresh off a successful push for Medicaid expansion, is out-polling Democratic challenger Mark Schauer.
The first-term Republican topped Schauer by eight points -- 44 percent to 36 percent -- in a new statewide survey of 600 likely voters conducted by EPIC-MRA of Lansing.
Interesting enough, Jonathan Oosting at MLive makes the assessment at the latest poll numbers representing a more positive direction for Governor Snyder:

Snyder has not yet announced his own re-election plans, but the former businessman from Ann Arbor is widely expected to run in 2014. Schauer, a former state lawmaker and U.S. representative from Battle Creek, is the only Democrat in the race.
Michigan's 2014 gubernatorial election is expected to be one of the more closely watched races in the nation. Some of the country's top political prognosticators have called it an early "toss-up."
Snyder led Schauer by six points in a statewide poll conducted by Denno Research in late July. Public Policy Polling had Schauer up by four points as of early June. EPIC's last poll, from May, showed Schauer up by one point.
The latest numbers are good news for Snyder, who has been under fire by some tea party Republicans for his support of Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. Some activists are flirting with the idea of a primary challenger.
"I think certainly the success of Medicaid expansion was a boost for him among independents and maybe even some Democrats," said pollster Bernie Porn, "and those improvements have translated into what is now an eight-point lead."
However, the poll still shows Rick Snyder six points below the 50% mark which still indicates vulnerability potential. Also, given this is September 2013 and assuming challenger Mark Schauer makes no mistakes in the course of his run for Governor of Michigan in 2014, polling at 36% isn't bad at all given he's only eight points lower than Snyder at this point.
And besides, when you got Ed Schultz pointing out the problems in Detroit that basically point the finger at Gov. Rick Snyder and others he's associated with or supporting his decision making, it won't be easy for Snyder to sweet talk his way out of this.
Let's give support for Mark Schauer as he works to unseat the disaster known as Rick Snyder:

7:21 PM PT: I just updated this diary with recent video published by the Mark Schauer for Governor campaign.
Given Mark Schauer was previously a Congressman in Michigan's 7th Congressional District from 2009-2011, Project Vote Smart has a listing of his ratings from his time then:
http://votesmart.org/...
Already I'm seeing Schauer's record in Congress as being pro-choice and pro-union.
Mark Schauer was rated 100% by Planned Parenthood (6/13/11)
Mark Schauer was rated 90% by Service Employees International Union (4/12/11)
