Hillary Clinton receives a helmet as a gift from her staff on January 7, 2013 upon her return to the State Department.
Too bad for Issa that she's still got this football helmet
Rep. Darrell Issa says the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee can “certainly” call back former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify on Benghazi.

“We can certainly have Mrs. Clinton back; our view is that we need to get to the facts,” Issa (R-Calif.) told Fox News in a clip that aired Wednesday.

Of course, after Issa went off the air, his staff told Politico that there weren't actually any plans to call Clinton back to testify:
However, a spokesperson for Issa said the chairman was not saying that calling Clinton back “will be happening.”

“He did not say he will or that it will be happening or any of those things,” Issa spokesperson, Becca Watkins, told POLITICO.

So why did Issa speculate about Hillary? Because for Republicans like Issa, Benghazi isn't about Benghazi, it's about Hillary Clinton in 2016, and in Darrell Issa's mind, every time that he mentions Hillary's name in the same breath as Benghazi, it makes it more likely that Paul Ryan or Chris Christie or Marco Rubio or Rand Paul or whomever it is that Republicans nominate will end up winning the election. And the thing that really frustrates him about Benghazi today is that it still hasn't sunk Hillary—but he's apparently not going to stop trying.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
