State health exchange map, as of May 28, 2013.
Wednesday on Daily Kos Radio show [podcast link], Greg Dworkin and I talked about how our local media is doing in covering the start of enrollment in the health exchanges under Obamacare next week. He's in Connecticut, so it's not a huge surprise that the local media is supportive and informative, and has is working hard to inform people who will be affected how it's all going to work.

That's true as well, surprisingly, where I'm at in Idaho. The coverage hasn't necessarily been as extensive here in Idaho's capital city as in Greg's area, but it's been informative, factual, and shockingly non-biased (at least from what I've seen so far).

Today, Ian S reports from Arizona that the local paper, the Republic, deserves kudos for its coverage, and that "this Sunday, they will have a separate newspaper section on Obamacare that should help folks as they prepare for the roll-out on October 1."

What are you hearing where you live? Is your local media doing a better job than Chuck Todd, or are they letting the myths and the lies prevail?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
