There was recent disappointing news about the absence of methane on Mars:
Does this dash Newt Gingrich's dreams of colonizing Mars? Only if you consider Newt a "form of life."
Better news today--water on Mars!
Since no advance in science can go unexploited, I am thinking this water is the next frontier in status items for the super-rich. Dubya may have purchased Paraguayan land that sits upon a huge aquifer.
But imagine being able to outdo the Bush's in natural resource greed, and can say:
"We don't even need Earth."
They can even out-do China's rich, who have to resort to something humbler:
I'm thinking it will at least cost $40 billion for a case of Mars water.
