Diarist note: Since I'm pretty sure that most of the C&J crowd was sleeping off their Rum & Coke Friday this morning at 9, this diary is being republished in the hopes that they are now awake and will rise to meet the $ 100 challenge (see below the squiggle)
Crowdfunding has its origins in the concept of crowdsourcing, which is the broader concept of an individual reaching a goal by receiving and leveraging small contributions from many parties. Crowdfunding is the application of this concept to the collection of funds through small contributions from many parties in order to finance a particular project or venture.[7] - Wikipedia.org

I joined Daily Kos back in 2008 but lurked for quite a while before that - mostly because of this Bill in Portland Maine person who wrote a daily column called Cheers & Jeers and made me laugh on a daily basis. If laughter is truly the best medicine, then I figure BiPM has saved me thousands in Xanax prescriptions!
I'm not saying that if Bill stopped providing our daily dose of humor, wisdom and knowledge of all things obscure and unique that the world would end but...
Poor Haley would probably have to take a job - although rumor has it she would be an excellent logger - removing sticks from the local watering holes to make fine, custom furniture..
Kevin the socialist duckstick would have to resort to a life of piracy on the high seas...
Kevin would be forced to downsize his crew putting blue duck out of a job...(what is his name again?)
let's face it, they make a great team! You know who else makes a great team?
Let's keep Haley in kibble, Kevin the Socialist Duckstick and his sidekick together (what is his name again?) and keep BiPM tickling our funny bones, sharpening our wit, and blessing our camels for another year.
I will offer a match for this diary. I will make a one-time donation to match montly recurring pledge amounts up to $100.00. So If we get 5 people who can donate $10 per month, I will make a one-time donation of $50.00 on top of my monthly recurring pledge. If we get 10 people pledging $10 a month I'll make a $100.00 donation on top of my monthly pledge. Let's keep Bill in our employ another year. Personally, I don't want to have to take the Xanax.
Hugs & much love to Bill, Michael, Haley and Fantom. Thanks for enriching every single day :)
I don't have a picture of Fantom so I'll just post another of Haley (the cutie!)..ok, I was wrong about the making furniture part. She does not part with her stick!
