Brad Schneider, in his mystifying quest to become exactly like Mark Kirk and Bob Dold, apparently saw wisdom in helping Republicans defund Obamacare. Thankfully, he did not vote to delay the law a year. He decided to do the next worst thing.
Instead, he was one of only 17 Democrats in Congress to vote to defund $29 billion dollars from Obamacare funding by repealing the Medical Device Tax. Further, Harry Reid called repealing it a non-starter and that, "the Senate will reject both the one-year delay of the Affordable Care Act and the repeal of the medical device tax"." That's what Brad Schneider voted for. A measure that will be swiftly condemned by Harry Reid and gleefully celebrated by Ted Cruz. But, yay! The Illinois Tenth finally got a Democrat elected!
Thanks, Brad. Once again you have shown IL-10 you could not be any less committed to progressive ideals or principles. If you want to beat Bob again (because you won't be able to squander an 18% advantage by the top of the ticket race again) it might be useful to, you know, vote as if you are different than him.
