Take a look at this political ad:

I made it.

In 15 minutes.

In Microsoft Paint.

It's not the be-all end-all of political advertisements. It may not even be very good. I'm sure there are problems with it. I'm damn sure there are people who are better at graphic design.

The point is, I can slap together a political ad in  MSPAINT in 15 Minutes.

The point is, everyone has something creative and unusual they can bring to the table, especially with the wonderful variety of people we have here at DailyKos.

I'd like to get together with some other Kossacks and make protest/political signs that anyone can print off at kinkos and put up either at public events or just out in public.

Think about what creative talents you have, however small, and the sorts of things you can do as an individual. And then think how cool it would be to combine those abilities with the creativity of others.

So lets talk here about creative ways to have fun, GOTV, and get our message out. We have a golden opportunity with this dramatic government shutdown to do some fun guerrilla messaging.

Kos made the point the other day that if we get our people to the polls next November, we win.

We already have people doing awesome, creative stuff that's way, waaaay, more effective than just blogging or making cute ads like the one I made here. Stuff like the Overpass Light Brigade. I'd like to see more of it, and I'd like to be part of more of it.

Can we hold GOTV Democratic Party Cook-Offs, inviting people out to have free food and register to vote? Can we organize Flashmobs? Do any of you have access to some community theater group with some folks that might like to do street theater?

What cool, fun, creative, unusual thing can you do to help supplement our GOTV efforts that go beyond blogging and traditional campaigning?

What resources haven't we tapped in to?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
