What does the late Alex Chilton (lead singer of The Box Tops) have to do with The Affordable Care Act? Please read on
The late Alex Chilton was a hero of mine How many of you folks (over 50) remember "The Letter" and hummed it maybe you sang it to your girlfriends or wanna be girlfriends. Alex was doing punk and White Soul music before the terms existed. After the band disbanded, he continued to sojourn on, trying to get back into the limelight, struggling as many musicians do (did)
To cut to the chase, Alex Chilton passed away on March 17,2010 of a Heart Attack. He was complaining of Chest Pains. He never sought medical care as he had no Health Insurance. Could the Affordable Care Act saved his life. Would Alex Chilton taken advantage of the Exchanges and got a Cardiologist ? We can only speculate.
At least now, people in his situation can make that decision and not have it made for them I thought the GOP was all about choices! The law is far from perfect and I am sure ill need some serious "clean up" legislation as it progresses But its a start and it should be allowed to continue.
Hopefully, The Democrats (Capital D) will take back the House and hold on to the Senate and we can have this legislation In the meantime
