One nice thing about attending group therapy for P.T.S.D. and other issues at the Veterans Hospital is that you meet fellow Veterans and over time become friends. When you are in a group, you share things about yourself your family doesn't know.
We used to meet for 90 minuets twice a month, sometimes more.
Over time I went more to see my friends then to talk about me.
One man I have grown to care for, had to be talked into applying for benefits by us. He is broken, never leaves the house, sits always in the back of the restaurant. His marriage failed and a friend almost had to carry him to our meetings. He applies for benefits and is turned down but the head of our group(a real pro) says she can easily get him his benefits. She asks "why wasn't I involved in the first place?
He has cancer and in two months it's amazing how sick he looks. He was robust when I met him. Now His voice is almost gone.
His benefit check would be his gift to his children. He eyes are in tears when he speaks about them. He did heroic things in Nam he just waited to long to apply.
The leader told me she just needed to supply more information,
was more an incomplete application.
The Government is closed and the Veterans are issuing no decisions on appeals while they are closed. No overtime, ALL appeals will now take longer. It was 15 months BEFORE the Government closed.
The Congresswoman witch from Minnesota was on television last night saying how "giddy" she and her friends are now that they shut down the government.
Some of the Tea part folks are going back to their home districts and getting
cheers.
My friend will die before he ever hears about his check. I was told to at least ask
the Veterans to pay for the addition expenses of Parkinson disease,
The Tea Party folks and the gutless Republicans can rot in hell, Yeah! I am crying.
I liked my my friend.
