Back in 2012 Kate and I visited Mark Twain's house in Hartford, and in the visitor center, I found a t-shirt that was perfect for that year's election. Those of us in MD-01 are burdened with a hopeless T-publican. The Maryland Dem Party's ability to respond with a great candidate has truly been clown-car politics. (Well, the reality is that they don't really give a damn about the district.)
The Twain Shirt: Thanks to the miracle of an iPhone shirt-selfie.
It was true in 2010, it was true 120 years ago, and unfortunately it's still true. And I'm sad to say the saying applies to both sides of the aisle, though the preponderance of Twain's vitriol must be reserved for the Boehner Brigades and their Senate enablers.
So this shirt, except for necessary washings, gets worn until Congress starts doing the job it is legally required to do.
