Quick note to let you know we're still alive. Wasn't able to provide pictures this time due to my physical inability to pry the camera from my child's hands.
We did manage to see the Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum before the shutdown. We also saw the Bureau of Engraving and Printing which was surprisingly still open. I asked them if they had any problems getting operating money together and we all laughed about that for a long, long time.
We were going to take a tour of the criminal classes, but Capitol Hill was closed so we went to the International Museum of Crime and Punishment instead. I learned from the police simulators that I shoot like the hero in a buddy-cop movie and drive like an extra in a buddy-cop movie.
Now we're in Orlando (actually Kissimmee) Florida preparing the "sorry-the-summer-kind-of-sucked-and-also-happy-birthday-Mommypooka" portion of the Great Retirement Tour. We'll be here for a couple of weeks if any Kossacks and/or guildies are nearby. How hard could it be to spot us?
