A real American hero. Really. I'm assuming you sincerely want what's best for the country. And that it hurts you to see the poor and middle class suffer, so. If that's not true, stop reading. You'll be wasting your time.
It's time to come clean. To do what you know in your heart is the right thing. Historians will one day look back and study this time period. What will the evidence show them? They will read President Obama's writings and speeches. And they will read yours.
They will study a financial system that poured all of the nation's wealth into a few hands. While the poor and middle class tread water or lost ground.
They will watch the videos of Sarah Plain and FOX news. They will see the anger. The ignorance. And hatred of our President. The cries of "the food stamp president." And in the future, religion will not be viewed the way you think it will, imv. Don't let the fearful drag you down with them.
They will study how many Americans were stoked with fear. Who bought the guns and disaster garden seeds. Why they bought them. And it will be clear who wanted to provide basic health care for it's citizens. Your arguments will ring hollow and false. It won't look favorable to future scholars. Do you understand?
In spite of all this, you have a chance to flip this on its head. To totally rewrite your history. America's history. You can be viewed as courageous. You can be viewed as a patriot who, in the end, had the courage to stand with the majority of the citizenry. To stand on the right side of history.
Declare to your House that you've slept on it. Tell them god talked to you. Whatever. But tell them you want to stop the threats of default. And, that you are going to re-open the government, asap, too. The place will go nuts. Some of it directed towards you. It won't be easy. But that's what makes a hero a hero, isn't it?
Do the right thing.
