Enough is enough Washington. It's time to put aside your minor agendas and get the country back up and fully running.
Sometimes one has to stand in awe of the collective idiocy that is being passed off as 'leadership' in our ridiculous age. The fact that Washington's total leadership has opted to disgrace the country by allowing a partial shutdown, due to a deal gone wrong, only shows the ineptness of both sides in understanding that public institutions are not private enterprise and should not be run that way. The fact that Boehner, Ryan, and Obama could not agree on a deal to fund government is no justification to walk away from the table as it would be in negotiations between to private individuals or entities. Neither side should view the situation in Washington and be proud of the way the leadership, in general, has behaved. It is deplorable regardless of one's partisan viewpoint.
It would be nice to see the Democratic Party establishment and related mouthpieces stop promoting these three untrue angles: the GOP hates the black president, the GOP is fighting your right to healthcare(as if the ACA were 'single payer' or something), and that it's all about losing the race for the presidency in 2012. It is all propaganda that is so dishonest, and simplistic, that it renders the more important discussion of the issues that this country faces moot.
On the other side of the coin it would be nice if the GOP would quit labeling the ACA "socialized medicine", calling our tragically Nixonite president a socialist, and calling themselves conservatives - it is disrespectful to those of us who are socialists and understand the meaning of the word. No responsible conservative, of yore at least, would work in conjunction with the neo-liberal establishment, shut down time honored institutions, but would strive to insure that they ran smoothly - that is if conservatives such as Barry Goldwater were still alive.
If liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, and other reasonable folk were truly interested in this issue - and they should be - they would be outraged with their own respective leaderships and demand that they stop this ridiculous, fraudulent posturing and "blame gaming". They all need to go back to table and get our institutions back up and running now. It is an embarrassment that even a partial shutdown of the institutions of this great nation would happen due to the petty egos of the collective moronery in the Demo-Republican status quo.
Enough is enough Washington. It's time to put aside your minor agendas and get the country back up and fully running.
