You may remember that last month, Craig James was hired as an analyst on Fox Sports Southwest's college football studio show--only to be ousted after only one appearance after Fox Sports brass in Los Angeles found out about anti-gay comments he'd made during his brief run for the Senate in 2012. If you'll recall, James dressed down former Dallas mayor Tom Leppert for appearing in a gay pride parade, and told him that gays will have to "answer to the Lord for their actions."
Well, last week, James sued Fox Sports for discrimination. He appeared on CBN Newswatch on Friday to talk about the suit.
"I was shocked that my personal religious beliefs were not only the reason for FOX Sports firing me, but I was completely floored when I read stories quoting FOX Sports representatives essentially saying that people of faith are banned from working at Fox Sports," James told Breitbart.com.
"That is not right and surely someone made a terrible mistake," he said.

To this, I have to ask--would we even be having this discussion if James had condemned interracial marriage? Not only that, but if James is so upset over being discriminated against, why didn't he call out his former employer, ESPN, for cutting ties with him immediately after he made those remarks?
When Liberty Institute sent a letter demanding James' immediate reinstatement, Fox replied with a statement that said he was fired for other reasons besides homophobia. The statement said that James' hiring had not been properly vetted, and in light of his status as a polarizing figure in the college football world, the only proper course was to cut ties with him.
Stay tuned.
