Boehner has caved. The President Has Won. The GOP got Nothing. But in the long run, has something even worse actually occurred? Has the GOP, rather than realizing that playing chicken with the full faith and credit of the United States is far too irresponsible to contemplate, particularly in order to extract the ransom of Defunding Obamacare, Delaying the Individual Mandate, Delaying the Medical Device Tax, and/or Screwing their own Staff's to the tune of $5000 worth of Benefit Costs... or have they learned a completely different lesson?
That Obama is just Too Mean for them?
Tea Bagging Emperor Ted Cruz's statement - as he stomped on Mitch McConnell's statement - tells us everything about what the GOP hath learned this day.
Cruz: The Deal that has been cut provides no relief to the millions of kids who can't find a job, because of Obamacare. It provides no relief to all the single parents who've been forced into part time work, struggling to feed their families on 29 hours a week. It provides no relief to all the families who are facing skyrocketing health insurance premiums. And it provides no relief to all the seniors and persons with disabilities who are getting in the mail notifications that they are losing their Health Insurance because of Obamacare. [The Spouses of ] 15,000 UPS workers have had their Health Insurance taken away, because of Obamacare.
This is unfortunate, but nobody should be surprised that the Washington Establishment is pushing back. Nobody should be surprised by the Resistance to Change. You want to know what this fight is about? This fight is about millions of people who are facing terrifying decisions because they're losing their healthcare, they're losing their jobs, they're being left in the cold.
The American people in the last few months have risen up in overwhelming numbers. We've seen millions of Americans all over this nation working to change Washington. That has been incredible progress, and this fight the debate will continue until collectively the American people can make DC listen.
It is very interesting that Ted Cruz lives in such a deluded parallel universe. But we all know he's not alone. Far from it. He has the cozy company of Pat Buchanan who basically said
Literally Destroying the Country was Worth IT to thwart Obama or Theodore P. Nugent [R-Asshat] whose message to Obama and Reid over the Shutdown is the ever eloquent and enlightening "
Eat Me".
Yeah, it's like that for some of them.
Yes, UPS did take the spouses of their employees off their Health Care - anticipating that the costs would rise - which they haven't - because they also knew that all of those persons were already working and could get healthcare from their own job. So rather than having a single family plan, they would have two individual plans, or better yet - a family plan from their other employer who isn't being such a DICK about the ACA. UPS is just shifting the costs to someone else, not taking away coverage from someone who otherwise can't get it.
The thing about that is, it has nothing to do with Obamacare because UPS was already under the previously existing employer mandate.
Even Investors.com - which regularly rails against Obamacare - has only been able to find 258 Businesses that have contracted worker hours to avoid the mandate. They've only been able to confirm 19,300 workers have been impacted by this - as compared to the potential 30 Million who previously didn't have Health Care who will soon have access to it. (A group which tehnically includes the 19,300 who, if they are indeed low-income, will have soon have subsidies to help pay for their care). These people may work for JERK companies, but that's not the fault of Obamacare, it's the fault of those companies. And what, pray tell, does Ted Cruz propose we do about that?

Anywho...
The problem of Jobs is something that the GOP has done nothing but make worse with this entire SHUTDOWN, they temporarily put 800,000 People OUT. OF. WORK! Meanwhile those same young people, that TED CRUZ has done nothing and will do nothing to help, will have coverage under Obamacare until they're 26.
The most outrageous of his claims were that seniors and the disabled would be kicked off their Healthcare because of the ACA.
THAT. IS. A. LIE.
The Weekly Standard may publish a report that one Health Care Provider is choosing to Drop Medicare Advantage from their coverage list, but that doesn't mean they've dropped Medicare or they've blocked access to the Exchanges for those who would like yet another alternative. The 22,000 Seniors using that provider aren't going to lose their coverage, they may simply have to buy Medicare Advantage using a different provider.
On the whole Medicare recipients aren't impacted by Obamacare except in positive ways.

The exchange will not affect seniors' Medicare choices and their benefits will not be changing. The exchange will not offer Medicare supplement (Medigap) insurance or Part D drug plans.
Medicare's open enrollment period, Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, has not changed.
Under Obamacare, Medicare enrollees get more preventive services, for less. Medicare now covers certain preventive services, like mammograms or colonoscopies, without charging seniors for the Part B coinsurance or deductible. They also get a free yearly "wellness" visit.
The law also provides enrollees savings on brand-name drugs. Medicare enrollees in the "doughnut hole" will get a get a 50 percent discount when buying Part D-covered brand-name prescription drugs. The discount is applied automatically at the pharmacy counter. Under Obamacare, the doughnut hole will be closed completely by 2020.
The doughnut hole is a coverage gap that starts when Medicare enrollees' annual drug costs reach $2,970. They don't get out of the doughnut hole until their out-of-pocket drug costs reach $4,750. At that point, catastrophic coverage kicks in.
People, all around this nation, rather than having to repeatedly spend an
average of 20 Hours Per Emergency Room Visit for minor as well as major health problems the way me and my wife have had to for the last 10 years - will now have better options. My wife is going to be automatically approved for Medi-Cal. I might even join her, we'll see.
So what has the GOP Learned after having their Asses Handed To Them by the Dems and the President as they specifically tried to BLOCK the ability of people to get Health Care Coverage?
Apparently nothing.
Except that Obama is So Mean for trying to save the Lives of Millions of Americans. Clearly Next Time the GOP will have to be Even Meaner than he and the Dems are. Damn That Obama.
Hopefully, America may have noticed just who did what here - and why - enough to make some real "Change" in November of 2014.
