Representative Patrick Murphy, the young Democrat who unseated Allen West in the 2012 election by a sliver of a vote, is already steamrolling three potential Republican challengers for 2014 in fundraising alone.
According to this morning's Palm Beach Post (can't find a link to it, sorry. Just read about it in this morning's paper)
Three Republicans hoping to unseat nationally targeted freshman Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy raised a combined $98,867 from contributors other than themselves over the past three months- less than one-fifth of Murphy's cash haul during the same period.
The article goes on to say:
Murphy, of Jupiter, raised $529,482 in the quarter that ended Sept. 30 and has collected more than $2.1 million overall for his re-election campaign in Palm Beach- Treasure Coast U.S. House District 18, according to a Federal Election Commission report filled this week. Murphy has spent $787, 677 on his campaign so far and began October with $1.4 million in cash on hand.
Woohoo! This was the same Rep. Murphy that Nate Silver listed as
extremely vulnerable back in July.
Looks like the tide is changing when it comes to a Republican-controlled House! Thank you Ted Cruz!
