With the budget and debt crises averted for now, Tea Party Republicans – delusional and destructive – are apparently digging in their heels, prepared to repeat the government shutdown we just witnessed.
Before last night's vote, this is what Rep. John C. Fleming (R-LA) told The New York Times:
“I’ll vote against it...But that will get us into Round 2. See, we’re going to start this all over again.”
According to Fleming, Tea Party Republicans are
already looking forward to the next debt limit deadline, and will once again attempt to leverage damaging the United States to fulfill their apocalyptic fantasies and extremist policy demands. Apparently, already
costing the U.S. $24 billion and .6% in projected GDP growth didn't satiate their pathological desires.
So they're going to try, once again, to shutter the government? I have two words: good luck.
