In the battle of dolt vs. dolt, the dolt wins
The thing that's great about
this quote is that he's not talking about Republicans going after Democrats, he's talking about Republicans going after Republicans:
"Hopefully we'll go into eight to 10 races and beat the snot out of them," said former Rep. Steve LaTourette of Ohio, whose new political group, Defending Main Street, aims to raise $8 million to fend off tea party challenges against more mainstream Republican incumbents. "We're going to be very aggressive and we're going to get in their faces."
Count me as doubtful on the question of whether not LaTourette's side is going to be the one dishing out the beating come primary time, but I do think he's right that the snot is going to get beaten out of someone.
"The convention left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths and we're not going to see that again," predicted Shaun Kenney, a former spokesman for the Virginia GOP who runs a conservative web site. "It's going to be like divorce court."
When former spokesmen of the GOP are enthusiastically talking about taking the party to divorce court, you know things are about to get even more entertaining, so break out the popcorn and get ready for the GOP's Great Divorce of 2013.
