So I wrote this diary 2 days ago:

Many, but far from all, gave me the business. And that's OK, I've been there before and accept the responsibility of writing a diary. It's not like you're writing for a fan club. You put your POV forward and what happens happens. And I'm not hoping for a redux with this diary, but accepting that might happen. But before it does, I ask y'all to read this:

Let me say loudly, I'm not comparing myself to Joan Walsh, for the better or the worse, but simply saying she said what I wanted to say, only better.
Some of you may be up on the enormous response she got for her view point from the left, much of it disparaging. The link I have given you is her answer to that, and again, she says it much better than I could have.
People here quote all kinds of fave progressive articles and shows such as Daily's all the time, so I write this diary to quote Joan Walsh. Every word of her essay here resonates with me. And whether you like or hate Joan Walsh, or somewhere in-between, I would ask that you stick to her points and not make this about whether you like her or not, or what you think her track record is.
I think it IS important that Democrats demand quick and absolute total concentration on fixing the ACA exchange roll out. She does too. And I think from the president on down, this is being done, and things are getting better by the day, no matter the fact that it will never be soon enough for some.
I'm going to hope that most who respond to this diary will have read the link to Walsh. I did not quote it in the parts I could considering fair practice, because I think this essay should be read as a whole, not just with quotes I think are important.
In the end, I really believe that Obamacare, like SS, Medicare and Medicare Part D, will smooth out and succeed, despite the now well often quoted problems of all in their roll out---and btw, I'm no fan of Medicare Part D.
And despite what some might think of my diaries on this subject, I am only a limited fan of Obamacare. I wanted much more. I wanted single payer. There will be those here who suggest but for a better move on the chess board Obama could have gotten single payer, or at least the public option. I don't agree, but that's a question for the ages, one that history will bring a better perspective to than we can.
I understand that in some ways, Obamacare may actually delay the possibility of single payer, and in other ways it may advance it---with it's open door to state by state ability to pass single payer. We just don't know yet. But asking America to go for another decade, at least, to get better than the ACA was not to me, practical, in terms of the pain it asked of so many, and the idea of depriving us all of BETTER.
And so, I will quote Walsh here:
Thanks also to the many people who reached out with stories of getting through the ACA website glitches to finally have insurance after many years. You made me realize Web glitches are a whole lot less inconvenient than going without insurance. For your sake, I hope they get the whole damn thing fixed, and fast.
