Received this e-mail today from Senator Tom Udall (D. NM):
In the 20th century, American manufacturing created our middle class.
Today, the manufacturing sector here in New Mexico employs tens of thousands of workers and pumps billions of dollars into our economy -- and in a state that has seen more than its fair share of tough times, those manufacturing jobs are helping fuel our economic recovery.
But there’s still work to do, both here in New Mexico and in Washington D.C., if we want to keep producing the kinds of green technology and manufacturing jobs that will make us competitive in a global economy.
Join me and my colleagues and let Washington know that it’s time to stop focusing on manufactured crises and start focusing on manufacturing jobs. Sign our petition today.

New Mexico has the potential to be a major hub for the kinds of green technology and aerospace manufacturing jobs that will propel our country to success in today’s global economy. But the gridlock in Congress is stalling our progress.
We need to be investing in new technology and innovation, working to create a manufacturing renaissance rather than fighting damaging partisan battles.
Stand with me and my colleagues in Congress -- it’s past time to get to work on creating jobs:
