Nevada lawmaker says he would never vote for slavery
Republican Assemblyman Jim Wheeler's bold stance against the peculiar institution comes after his statement that he would, in fact, vote for slavery:
conservative blogger Chuck Muth asked if Wheeler would support slavery if his constituents want it.
“Yeah, I would,” Wheeler told the Storey County audience, adding the he probably would have to “hold my nose.”
He went on to explain that voting the way your constituents want is part of the Republican form of government, winning applause from the audience.
A conservative Republican Assemblyman, representing a very conservative area, is asked by a conservative blogger if he would vote for slavery. And he answers yes. And is applauded.
Yes, this is actually the level of political discourse among conservatives in this country. Very sick really. This guy can't be voted out of office soon enough.
