There are so many things wrong with this governor, one hardly knows where to begin.
800,000 to redecorate the mansion while saying No No to roads and schools is his latest antic. The man is some sort of alien austerity pig for Floridians and many Floridians still think he can go to church and pray them into heaven.
There are several articles written up this week on Scott. From the Orlando Eaminer is this:
decorating story
October 29, 2013
Florida Gov. Rick Scott came to Tallahassee pledging to cut wasteful government spending. But at the same time he was cutting spending to state programs, Scott was using taxpayer money on repairs to "The People's House" of Florida.
According to the Orlando Sentinel on Oct. 29, ever since Scott took office in 2010, he has racked up more than $800,000 in repair bills for the governors mansion. Most of the money used for repairing the Greek Revival mansion has been used for cleaning the oriental rugs, refinishing the floors and maintaining the grounds.
Please pass the Grey poupon Daaaahling attitude with this :
Of the $800,000 spent on the mansion, about $600,000 has been billed to taxpayers. The list of repairs and upgrades to the mansion includes: a $2,000 mirror for Ann Scott's bathroom, $38,000 on new rugs, window repairs, new wallpaper, paint, new screening around the pool, plus new furniture, pillows and drapes.
Wow ! I gotta see that !.. I have a screened in porch around the handicap pool and I only spent 40 bucks for the pressure washing. I did get a new chair this year for the patio and it was 59.00 zero gravity chair and sits just fine. Oh and I also bought some drapes.(sheers actually) and that cost 11.00 at Kmart and two pillows costing 5 dollars apiece at the Dollar Store. New funiture..nah but if I had bought some, it would have been from Buddys rent to own and I would have paid too much for that as well... It would have cost me like...1300.00. But I didn't..I can read a budget.
Now I did get a new Kingsized bed...A friend of my son's father died and left us a very nice King sized bed .( He was a Korean war vet and wanted Jack to have it because it helped his back). That was 0 cost except the gas we spent helping that vet's daughter move and find her own place and oh and a 100 dollar donation to get her to her Daddy's final resting place.
Now we come to the grounds. Hey Austerity King, my son and kids and me work the yards here and we planted a pretty little flower garden. I bought a steam cleaner for the floors for 39.00 at a thrift store and I am set.
What in the hell did he spend nearly a million on repairs for? Was the roof caving in?
Didn't say so. What kind of bathroom do you need to take a crap in to justify Ann's primp or poop expense? What kind of mirror was it? The kind the witch looked into and say Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?
The Huffington Post reported that while Scott was helping himself to taxpayer money decorating, he wanted to cut the roads and schools down with no infrastructure by 500 Million dollars.
The man is also racking up a legal tab of over a million in frivolous law suits.
Of course he declared a national prayer day so that squares everything.
Words almost fail me but one thing for sure... I need to go to Tallahassee and sell him some pillows cheap...say about 40,000 a piece. I know a place that would stuff it with silverworks cheaper than he charged the people of Florida. Yes..I am quite sure Aji and Wings would cut me a deal to sell Scott some of their silverworks. I am sure we are missing prime opportunity to deal with this tea for brains elitist.
I will be writing more on this Fancy Pants governor and his wife every time they pull crap like this costing the poor people of Florida money depriving them of education and roads.
We won't even mention the rest of harm he has caused with healthcare or lack of it.
No to schools and roads
Scott has already pledged to use an expected budget surplus to cut taxes and fees by $500 million.
But now Scott is also vowing to "cut government waste" by $100 million and to block borrowing money for new roads and school buildings unless there are "specific" reasons why the state should go ahead with the project.
The Scott administration did not explain why it had chosen a figure of $100 million in cuts.
There is probably a reason he does not know why he chose that figure.....The wife's bill has not come in yet probably for the new faucets to go with her new bathroom.
