In a rare move of bipartisanship (GOP/TP), Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has announced he will not soap the windows of sitting GOP senators.
According to Politico, Cruz met with fellow senatorial pachyderms yesterday to assure them that his picture would disappear from the website of the Senate Conservatives Fund, the flaming bag of dog poo Jim DeMint has left on the porches of Republican senators deemed insufficiently conservative. Cruz pledged he would not fundraise for DeMint's group no would he campaign for primary opponents to sitting senators of his own party.
According to one source familiar with the meeting in the Senate’s Mansfield Room, Cruz noted that Republican Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky wouldn’t fundraise for the group and promised that his image would be removed from its materials. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told Cruz that Paul took such an action six months ago, but he thanked the Texas conservative for doing so. Other GOP senators also thanked Cruz, sources say.
So, the guy in the turtle costume thought Cruz' Republican mask was cool.
Cruz' actions come on the heels of numerous episodes of the other kids picking up their lunch trays and leaving the table when he sat down in the cafeteria and toilet papering his office in the Dirksen Building.
Asked to respond to Cruz' statement, judges in the Capitol Costume Contest issued a statement sayig, "An elephant in a tri-corner hat takes off the hat and says he's masking as an elephant? Fail."
