This past weekend for Halloween, my husband and I dressed up in costume and wandered around downtown. We received overwhelming welcomes, mostly from adults and older children. Some of the little ones weren't quite sure what was going on and asked questions like "Is this pretend?"

We then marched in our city's annual Pumpkin Parade. Some years, because we marched with the Democrats, we've gotten hate messages from our audience. Not this year. Wonder why? Apparently this is a face even a Republican can love:

The important thing, of course, and the tie-in to weight loss, is that I walked and stood for roughly six hours that day. I got tired, but I didn't stop. I didn't experience a recurrence of my bursitis. I pushed my boundaries and found they're further out than I knew.

So how far do you push yourself when you exercise?
I recently resolved to do more standing up in general and more walking. So far it's working well. I am more able to do whatever I want, I tire less, and I feel pretty good. I'm still very surprised at how much I can do, though. I've never thought of myself as particularly athletic. How about you? Have you tried pushing your boundaries further?

Please let us know how you're doing. After that weekend, I spent several days at 133 on the scale, which freaked me out a little. :) Back up to 138 today. How did Halloween affect you? What are your plans to keep your eating and fitness on track over the upcoming holidays?
