Huffington Post has the story where Senator Chuck Schumer(D-NY) has joined other Democrats like Claire McCaskill that want to see Hillary Rodham Clinton make a Presidential run in 2016.
Personally, I haven't really decided on whom I'd like to see win the nomination come 2016, but I am well aware that Schumer is a good Democrat on issues that aren't Wall Street related. I am further aware that Secretary Clinton is our most electable and recognizable potential candidate. I am still in awe of Clinton's expertise in health care, and I do believe that if Secretary Clinton were to become President Clinton, our health care system could be further improved for the better.
However, Clinton's vote for the Iraq War when she was a Senator and she obviously knew better than to vote that way still gives me tremendous pause(I also hold that vote against Vice President Biden whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for). I would also feel concerned about her willingness to go after Wall Street(a flaw that the Obama Administration has as well) and her past of being hawkish on foreign policy matters when the current electorate seems to her left on foreign policy.
I will look forward to seeing what decision Secretary Clinton makes. If her stump speeches for Terry McAuliffe are any indication, I am sure she'll be a fighter on striking back against the GOP's War on Women. I will refer to my signature as I continue to feel that the best way to win against the GOP is to enshrine the Equal Rights Amendment in the Constitution. But of course I think a woman with vision such as Clinton would be a good step in that direction so I will keep an open mind on her candidacy.
