Very short diary. Was looking for an open thread, but doesn't appear to be one.
What a pleasant surprise. Went to vote in Falls Church today at Noon expecting to breeze in and out. First, the small parking lot was full and there was a line of about 20 people and every one of 10 voting booths was occupied. Thats more than I saw in 2012.
As of Noon, precinct reported about 35% of registered voters had voted. Yesterday, they predicted a total 50% turnout today. We may very well surpass that number.
Falls Church is a Democratic/liberal enclave in Northern Virginia, having voted for Obama 69%-30% in 2012.
