Four score and seven years ago my father brought forth on this continent a new national movement, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war, a war of bad ideas against the good, the existing establishment against our Tea Party's ideals and ideas. I have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. It is altogether fitting and proper that the ideals which power the Tea Party are spread across this great land.
To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer The Slings and Arrows of outrageous journalists, intent on embarrassing an innocent such as myself,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles, concocted and imposed by a corrupt liberal media which only wants to seek my political death.
And by opposing end them: their wish is for me to die, to sleep no more; and by a sleep, to say we end the Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks that Flesh is heir to?
For being a heir of the Tea Party, is to live, to wake up in a free nation, free of government interference, of the destructive forces like ObamaCare, Social Security, and Medicare, to free us of federal taxation and all the corruption it creates - this is my dream, and yours.
I Have a dream!
I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. Of limited government, and individual rights and freedom, free of government taxation, obstruction, regulation, and interference.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of my personal creed which I wrote more than a decade ago: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal." And by equal, I mean equally free from government regulations and socialist ideas like Obamacare.
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of Tea Partiers, ready to join with us, to stand up for the same cause, my cause, America's cause.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Virginia, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. We lost yesterday a defeat that stings for a long time to come. But it serves to give us a lesson, one that will not be easily forgotten. That unless we stand together, a house divided is sure to fall!
I have a dream that my little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their money but by the content of their character. Yet our children suffer from government run education, in which socialist, communist, and Kenyan ideals replace those contained in the Bible, the source of all truth and knowledge. The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.
I have a dream today. And I hope that we all can live it. I thought long and hard about what to say, and the only way that I can express it is thusly: Ask not what America can do for you. Ask what you can do for America! Without freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom and no such thing as public liberty without freedom of speech. Only our movement, our Tea Party, our honesty, originality and productivity can create and protect that freedom of thought.
Some years ago, I wrote this original thought: Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism it's just the opposite. But, as I grew, studied and learned, I realized a truth that was always there for the taking. Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under. At the moment, what is happening in Washington is nothing to be proud of. Rather, if you are decent, and because you stand with the Tea Party, I know that you are decent. If you are decent, then what happens in congress and especially the Oval Office, should make you ashamed. I stand here ashamed of our liberal media, of our dysfunctional government, of our very political process which punishes original thinkers like me, and rewards those who hate us for our freedoms.
Let me close with this original thought: A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government. Now is that time, and the Tea Party is the tool for true patriotism.
God Bless America, God bless the Tea Party, and god bless all of you concerned patriots!
