Thursday night, my wife and I will make the leap across the pond to the UK. A week in Edinburgh, Scotland. No real itinerary, which is a travel first for us. If you guys have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
We've got a free "flat" in Edinburgh for the week. Really looking forward to sundown at 4pm, because its conducive to getting in bed early, reading (while sipping scotch) and then getting lots of sleep. I've read about the local Cheese monger in Food and Wine, so that's a must see/taste. Some cozy pubs and whiskey tastings. A day trip to Glasgow. See the castle, Scottish Parliament and The Royal Mile. Have some haggis and smoked fish, though not on the same plate. Also try some of the local brew from Innis & Gunn.
That's my whole plan. Let me know what else we should check out.
