Some Democrats worry that changing the rules, now, will cost us in the future if the Republicans keep the house and win the senate. In effect, Republicans would become veto-proof, should they lose the presidency. What could a Democrat in the White House expect?
Let's assume this is what happens. Will the Republicans not change the senate rules should they become the majority? I give you everything that has occured since 2010 in their bid for power. What could the Democrats do, but, naively(?) cry foul?
Would the Republicans worry about their political future? We're talking about a party that has twice brought us to to the brink of economic holocaust. "Worry" doesn't appear to be at the top of their agenda.
It may, well be, the time to beat them to the punch, "..while we have the muscle," as Frankie Five Angels, might say. There is much that can be done to push our agenda ahead in the coming year, which could likely bring multitudes to our side at the polls.
We can discuss this and wonder what to do about that, but in the end, the ONLY thing that matters is voter turnout. Ya CAIN'T go to the dance if you AIN'T bought your ticket! Go team go.
