I know a lady from Mexico quite well. She used to help me when myself and others went out at night to help the invisible people. She is too afraid to go out in public now.
I love to listen about the lives of Mexican -American"s,and she loves to talk about the subject.
I am Pro-choice, but I"m told I am not passionate enough about abortion. I gulped,and said,"I am a man,Women need to lead,don't they?"I agreed I should stand besides Women
and not behind them on Abortion rights.
In 1977,Heny Hyde,a Republican from Illinois, got"the Hyde amendment" passed through
Congress.Poor Women no longer would receive Government help getting safe abortions.
Rosie was a lady six months from becoming a teacher. She had been awarded a scholarship for school.
She goes to Mexico to get an abortion. The procedure is done badly, and she soon dies in agony. She was 27. She died because she was poor. Rich women can get an abortion anytime they want in any state in this Country.Remember Rosie:a song for choice will tell the story ,but she is still dead.
Rosie was the first know poor Woman known to have died because of a monster serving in Congress wanting to control her body.
Now monsters in most red states are humiliating Women. Governor "ultrasound" in Virginia to Texas closing health clinics for poor Women,(Abortion is a small part of what
those clinics do)North Dakota,Mississippi, and nearly all Republican state run legislatures
are ignoring Roe.It seems as if Republican"s have united to take our country back to another sad era.
All of the Marches, blood, tears will have to be shed again. Republicans are like a cancer that is spreading. Every Woman Republican and Democrat should be up in arms here. Birth Control pills are abortion to some men. You may have to explain to your boss why your birth control pills should be covered under your insurance. In some companies,Your boss decides, you don't.
Men would never allow this invasion of privacy, ladies. Be militant and tell your boss you will buy your own pills. Maybe we need to start a fund for Women who need money to buy pills. I don't want ONE Woman in ONE office discussing her personal business.
I know about Rosie now,she is on my wall of Giants in America. Make her the Rosa Parks of the "take back our bodies" fight that men and women must fight.
Republicans are smelling blood now. We have to stand up,turn around, smile and say "Rosie and Rosa and Martin are standing here with us." Sunshine and all that is good is on our side. Darkness and all that is evil in on your side."
"Embrace the faith that every challenge
surmounted by your energy; every problem
solved by your wisdom; every soul
stirred by your passion; and every barrier
to justice brought down by your determination
will ennoble your own life, inspire others, serve your country
and explode owtward the boundaries of what is
achievable on this earth."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
