How can you take a leave of absence when you don't work? Maybe we should ask Florida Representative Troy Radel who is taking just such a vacation after his guilty plea for buying cocaine in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Radel said his “team” in Washington and in his southwest Florida district would take of his congressional business while he received what he called “intensive in-patient treatment.”
The freshman legislator hasn't done much in Congress, which is not a surprise because no Republican does much in Congress except mouth the words "no." So, how is taking a leave of absence any different than what he has been doing for the past year?
He says his salary will be donated to charity while he is away. Perhaps he should donate all of his salary "earned" so far.
