The man who abhors violence, never carrying a gun, but this is the truth, Doctor: you take ordinary people and you fashion them into weapons... behold your Children of Time, transformed into murderers. I made the Daleks, Doctor, you made this.
How many more? Just think, how many have died in your name? The Doctor, the man who keeps running, never looking back because he dare not, out of shame. This is my final victory, Doctor. I have shown you yourself.
You will be exterminated!
Not yet. Your systems are still restoring, which means your shield density is compromised. One alpha meson burst through your eye stalk would kill you stone dead.
Records indicate you will show mercy! You are an associate of the Doctor's!
I'm River Song. Check your records again.
Mercy.
Say it again?
Mercy!
One more time.
Mer-cy-y-y!
Not all the companions are very sympathetic characters. I must admit I have a soft spot in my heart for some of the more feisty ones like
Captain Jack Harkness and
Sarah Jane Smith. The death of
Adric came as quite a shock to me. People under the Doctor's direct protection didn't usually die, though red shirts did with amazing regularity for a "children's" show.
Why yes, yes I am very distracted but that does not excuse my failure to post last night. I blame Flashplayer which installed all kinds of crap that made my system very unstable.
What's past is unless we get all loopy about it. Next week is all TBA reruns until T-day. I'll make an appearance Monday to detangle and link it. T-day itself is going to be taken up with last minute perparations for a trip I'd rather not have to make which you can read all about in Saturday the 30th's What's Your Fucking Problem.
Meatspace- what a drag.
Tonight we start with Tom Brokaw. Another bootlicking toady of the Neoliberal Media Complex, my Dad thinks he's a drunk.
Next we have J.J. Abrams, a director of mixed accomplishments (depending on your taste) of which the most notable to me are the reboot of Star Trek (which didn't suck quite as much as I thought it would, but that's a pretty low bar) and the 2015 release Episode VII (I'm a firm Han shot firster and I don't hold with digital remastering and changing plot points and re-ordering, but unless it's another prequel this is really number 7).
He can't possibly be talking about Into Darkness whch was way back in April (like 10 years ago in blog time) so I don't have any prediction of what he's going to talk about except the weather or his current TV projects Almost Human and Believe.
Should we not meet again until after the Holiday Celebrating the Massacre of the Indigenous People of North America I hope that you and your family and friends are happy and safe with plenty to eat and be thankful for.
