Well look who's making himself out to be the Ebenezer Scrooge of 2013:

The War On Christmas may actually be happening this year, but it’s being waged by an unlikely culprit: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R).
Last week, Walker’s campaign sent an email encouraging supporters not to buy gifts for their children and to use that money instead to support his reelection effort.
“Instead of electronics or toys that will undoubtedly be outdated, broken, or lost by the next Holiday Season, help give your children the gift of a Wisconsin that we can all be proud of,” the email read. - Think Progress, 12/2/13
Here's Walker's full e-mail to his supporters:
Ok, all politicians and candidates find creative ways to ask supporters to donate money to their campaigns but this is by far the most ridiculous fundraiser e-mail I've seen. Asking supporters to donate to your campaign instead of buying gifts for their loved ones this Christmas sounds like a serious plea of desperation. Why doesn't Walker ask the Koch Brothers to spend more money on him instead of their family members this Christmas? Then again, if you're already backing Scott Walker for re-election, you're probably dumb enough to go through with this fundraising e-mail. Grant it, this might be Walker's definition of the "positive message" Republicans need to emphasize in next year's elections:

WALKER: Well, you know, I talk about the difference between Republicans in Washington and Republicans in the states. And one of the key differences is we talk about things that are relevant and optimistic.
We talk about fixing schools, balancing budgets, getting the economy going again. We don't talk about sequesters and fiscal cliffs and debt ceilings. Those are things a handful of people in politics pay attention to.
What Americans want are people with the courage to stand up and fight for them, not fight against each other, fight for the hard- working tax-payers. And in America there are 30 Republican governors doing exactly that just as we speak. - Real Clear Politics, 12/1/13
Good luck with that, Scott. Meanwhile, some of Mary Burke's (D. WI) liberal critics are starting to warm up to her:

Another recent interview Burke did with blogger Zach Wisniewski, the founder of the popular Blogging Blue, appears to have been a success. Wisniewski, a Department of Corrections employee and union member, has previously criticized Burke for refusing to commit to courses of action on a number of issues and has criticized the Democratic Party for trying to deter other candidates from challenging her in the primary.
"However, I recently had an opportunity to sit down and speak with Burke, and after our conversation I came away less apprehensive about her candidacy," he wrote in the introduction to his blog post, which covered several topics, including Act 10, the minimum wage, anti-union "right-to-work" laws and Trek's off-shoring of manufacturing jobs.
"While my interview with Mary Burke didn’t touch on every issue I had hoped to," he concludes, "it’s my hope that I’ll have an opportunity to sit down with her again to cover those issues we weren’t able to cover." - The Cap Times, 12/2/13
