Wow, what a day, kos on the front page THREE times giving them what for. Now we're talking! Okay, okay, what do I know, was out of the country tent camping in African bush doing wildlife photography and what not for three months so maybe he has been there fighting the good fight more than I am aware.
Great to see this, though, know he has been busy building up the site and though I have a life sentence subscription got an email looking for money to take it even further.
Still, for me, it was good to see him front and center giving the d*cks in our party what for, fighting for our Dem values against not only Republicans but corp a dems as well.
GREAT seeing kos on the FP today giving conserva dems thirdway idiots what for .
He has said that he founded this blog to support the Democratic Party but also to offer a forum for criticism and creative dissent, and that's the reason many of us are here.
As former military its always interesting to get his take on US military action and policy. He has posted before about what a waste continuing US action in Afghanistan has been and that it should be ended. As to the news that President Obama will not be keeping his promise to bring the troops home in 2014 ?
kos may or may not weigh on this as busy as he is and that is understandable. However as his posts today show the pressure must be huge on Democrats to continue the status quo, including our policy endless war and military spending, keep that campaign cash cow well fed. Some in our country benefit more than others from this of course....
Remember part of what Occupy raised awareness on was the war profiteers and their buying of elected officials out from under us with OUR money?
With 20 plus ex soldier suicides a DAY, thousands of families affected by the war, isn't it time we do more to see that the President keeps that promise to be out by 2014?
Hope all will take part in the following...
Call on the White House to Exit Afghanistan NOW!
After 12 years in Afghanistan, the longest war in U.S. history, it is time for our troops and contractors to come home now – leaving no one behind.
SNIP
If you support our troops, please take action right now, Call the White House (202-456-1111) or send an email www.whitehouse.gov/contact telling President Obama we want our men and women in uniform home NOW – leaving no U.S. troops or contractors in Afghanistan.
No compelling case has been made for why it is necessary to leave U.S. troops in Afghanistan. All indicators literally scream for an end to the War in Afghanistan with a total withdrawal of all troops:
2,289 U. S. soldiers have died – almost 19,000 injured
the war is not almost over
our troops are still dying and sustaining lifelong injuries every day in Afghanistan
Skyrocketing military suicides, PTSD and TBI injuries
“Green on Blue” attacks, in which members of Afghan forces kill U.S. troops – highlighting the growing resentment against the U.S. occupation even among our Afghan partners
The Afghan people have suffered greatly, alarmingly high rate of civilian deaths http://costsofwar.org/....
President Karzai is not a trusted partner and has been highly critical of the U.S.
The costs of this war, $550 billion, clearly outweighs any “supposed” benefits
The vast majority of Americans have supported a quick end to the Afghanistan war for years
It is time for President Obama to listen to the American people and give real support to our troops.
With mid terms coming us we should up our pressure to bring the troops home !
