I've already communicated my goals for this franchise and my commitment to it.
I want a rotating roster of contributors so I don't have to stay up until midnight every damn night and then get up @ 6 am. If I had some relief I'd cover the down time and keep the doors open but right now every day I don't have to amuse you is like a mini vacation and I'm not kidding that all of my health care professionals are appalled at the energy I'm putting into this.
That 'S' stands for 'Sucker'.
Yet in its own way TDS/TCR is a perfect idea, regular and time limited, content already provided by Jon and Stephen, all you have to do is react. So good in fact that I often (well, at least once or twice) lobbied Tia to cross post.
It's mine now.
So, unless we reach some other arrangement, in 2014 I'll be hosting at The Stars Hollow Gazette and DocuDharma and cross posting here. Maybe you'll notice the difference and maybe you won't. At my sites I can post web exclusive content that doesn't auto play (ct? Are you listening?).
This is not a threat, it's a heads up that things are going to change with more than the 2 days notice I got. What I would hope is that you register for membership and comment there as you would here. I'll continue to cross post @ dK as long as I can but I'm an incorrigible trouble maker.
Hear now, the news-
Jorge Ramos
Jorge Ramos has won eight Emmy Awards and the Maria Moors Cabot Award for excellence in journalism. He has been the anchorman for Univision News since 1986 and has appeared on NBC's Today, CNN's Talk Back Live, ABC's Nightline, CBS's Early Show, and Fox News's The O'Reilly Factor, among others. He is the bestselling author of No Borders: A Journalist's Search for Home and Dying to Cross. He lives in Florida.
Ramos joined Univision, Telemundo, Fox Sports, ESPN Deportes, and many others in 1985. He has interviewed multiple world leaders including Fidel Castro, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Evo Morales, Hugo Chávez, Terry Porter, Rafael Correa, Fernando Ferrer, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and many others.
He started working at a radio station in Mexico City. However, he left his country (Mexico) when the biggest Mexican television network censored a report he had made. Looking for another way of life, he immigrated to the U.S.
Silly him.
Allan Mulally is the new Henry Ford without the anti-semitism, innovation, and Keynesianism.
Only Stephen has his new guests up. They are-
* Monday 12/9: David Keith
* Tuesday 12/10: Alex Blumberg
* Wednesday 12/11: Elizabeth Gilbert
* Thursday 12/12: George Packer
As emphasized above, your participation is vital. I certainly don't do this for my health. If there is a day or a guest (or a day and a guest) that inspires you please let me know in comments or messanges. I'm not discouraged or depressed, in fact I think things are going reasonably well considering.
But I do take the long view and I want everybody to have the same opportunity I had to learn and grow as an author and commenter in what I would call the late night kiddie pool were I egotistical, insensitive, and vain (oh wait... I so totally am).
It's really that easy except for staying awake.
