I have been a bad, bad boy again recently, and although usually I could give a damn and move on for once it seems worthy to explain myself, the alleged affront garnered 34 donuts, mm, that’s a whole lotta donuts. The issue seems rather serious, I’m supposed to be on a mission to support this site, so what the hell a meta Saturday it will be.

A United States Senator—member of a ridiculous bicameral mechanism that exists to thwart the People’s House, both of which are loathed and held in complete disgrace by the American public—took it upon himself to become part of public relations campaign that trashed Elizabeth Warren, Wall Street finance reform and any liberal who would dare to think The Bailed Out Ones need reining in.

The Communist Party of Cuba has a higher approval rating than Congress. Shocking, isn’t it?

This august one then compared The Daily Kos and liberal blogs to the complete equivalency of those reeking, angry violent right wing sites of our cher cousin Republicans, you know, RedState, Power Line, NewsMax, we’re just like them.

Naturally this created a righteous firestorm of pushback, so he showed up here and said his words were “inartfully worded.”

No, sir, you fucked up. Badly, in multiple dimensions, if you know so then say so, I fucked up, I’m sorry, and it won’t happen again.

Who among all of us would instantly comprehend the efficacy and sincerity of such a statement? Me, certainly. Myself and all of us deserve nothing less, to be respectful and accepting of such childish offensive evasion of “inartfull words” is simply a form of enabling, there’s no apology here and to be respectful will only mean it will happen again.

It’s an issue.  [holds thumb and forefinger four microns apart] Liberals and activists who support the Democratic Party are this…close…to being labeled Suckers.  We never get what we want, heroes like Warren are knifed by our own people, win or lose an election advisers to the President say it means the Left has to be ignored, defense spending and wars rage on completely out of control, civil liberties are in ruins, wages smashed, the list goes on and on. Liberals have no other place to go, so suckers we most certainly are not, but by God and Baby Jesus there are limits to what we will take, a Senator says something terribly offensive and insulting and then shows up in our house with a non-apology? No respect, none.

[opens hands briefly] That’s how I feel about it, that’s how it happened. I suppose if I was disrespectful to many elected officials I’d get a ban warning from Meteor Blades, but it’s the first time it’s happened so I doubt the scenario will occur. I upset a lot of people, I wish that hadn’t happened, honest, but I’m not sorry for what I did.

Will I break The Rules—written or otherwise—of this site again after the 34 donut debacle? Very likely, rules mean nothing to me. The horribly offensive Clapper of our lovely NSA lied his ass off to Congress, no one cared, all The Rules are Cider House Rules. Furthermore, allegedly sacrosanct Life Rules were continually and casually smashed in my personal life and everyone walked, the rules never saved me from terrible things.

These aren’t sentences of defiance, seriously, it’s just the sort of person I am.  It doesn’t make me very popular but always know my participation here has at its core respect for all people, especially the little people.

Markos did cull me from his Facebook friend list, which cuts me absurdly bad. Dude, was it the time I got you to swearing in the threads? The time I let you know white privilege interpretation of Snowden was full of shit? For telling a US Senator to kiss my ass?

Well, whatever it was, I’m sorry to be such a pain. Really. Good luck with the fundraising drive, home, if bribery will work to get back on the friend’s list just let me know, I’m good with it.

[wan smile] Please be well, gentle people, please have a wonderful Saturday and weekend. I’m in lying low mode for a few days.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
