One of America’s war heroes, General Colin Powell, has just endorsed single payer healthcare.
“I don’t see why we can’t do what Europe is doing, what Canada is doing, what Korea is doing, what all these other places are doing,” he said.
Gen. Powell is probably affected by his experience with Veterans Administration healthcare, one of at least five government funded AND ADMINISTERED by the federal government.
Makes you wonder why Powell still calls himself a Republican. That party left the General a long time ago.
The bumpy roll out and beginning of the Affordable Care Act has had a very negative effect on President Obama’s popularity and poll ratings.
On single payer healthcare, General Powell said, “I have benefited from that kind of universal health care in my 55 years of public life.”
“We are a wealthy enough country with the capacity to make sure that every one of our fellow citizens has access to quality health care… [Let’s show] the rest of the world what our democratic system is all about and how we take care of all of our citizens,” said Powell.
