Former Governor Jennifer Granholm (D. MI) is helping out in making sure State Senator Mark Herring (D. VA) wins his recount in the Virginia Attorney General race against Ken Cuccinelli (R. VA) protege, Mark Obenshain (R. VA):
Let me tell you, as the first female governor of Michigan, I know a thing or two about making history. And Mark Herring's fight to hold on and be Virginia's first democratic attorney general in a decade is the real deal.
But without your help next week, Tea Party extremists will use Obenshain's recount to snatch it away, and install Cuccinelli's protégé in the Attorney General's office, continuing their extremist approach in Virginia. Mark needs volunteers across Virginia to stand up and defend his victory. Click here to help on recount day, December 17th.

Virginia voters elected Mark because they know he's a responsible leader who's committed to the well being of all Virginians, not just special interest donors. But Mark's opponent is just another Cuccinelli clone, and he's ready to try every trick he knows to steal this win.

If Mark is going to fight for Virginians, Virginians have to fight for him. He needs volunteers in every county on December 17th. Click here to be one of them and ensure responsible leadership in Richmond.

Mark is depending on you. This is too important to sit out.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
