Chang Song-thaek the uncle to North Korean leader Kim-Jong un and married to the sister of former leader Kim-Jong il has been executed. Last Sunday Chang was forcibly removed by armed guards during a meeting of North Korea's Communist party.
"Chang pretended to uphold the party and leader but was engrossed in such factional acts as dreaming different dreams and involving himself in double-dealing behind the scenes," the agency reported at the time
It accused him being "ideologically sick and extremely idle and easy-going", of using drugs while receiving medical treatment overseas, of having "improper relations" with women, of financial mismanagement, and leading "a dissolute and depraved life".
Given Chang's quick fall from grace and the North's propensityfor executing or imprisoning members of the family of those accused of crimes against the stater one can only guess at what fate awaits Kim-Jong un's aunt. Additionally any one closely associated with Chang-Song thaek could find themselves and their families on the wrong side of firing squad or the inside of a North Korean Gulag
