“It’s not a small group of republicans”

[that are responsible for the obstruction, sabotage and an anti real person agenda - that's me chiming in]

Alex Wagner hosting ‘The last Word’ December 12, 2013 in this exclusive preview of her Friday show ‘Now” interviews Nancy Pelosi who is pushing back on the latest myth within the republican “civil war” meme:  Boehner [establishment republicans] vs Cruz/teabagger fringe as MSM is reporting lately

“It’s not a small group of republicans it’s over sixty percent of the house republicans voted to shut down the government… it was their Bill we were voting on. It wasn’t our Bill it was their Bill we were voting on which we didn’t like but it was their proposal and over 60 percent of them voted against their own Bill to open up government. Eighty percent of them voted against Sandy Aid unless you were from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and a smattering of others across the country. .. 97 percent of the republicans voted to cut 40 billion dollars out the food stamps... only 15 people voted to say no, not 15 percent, only 15 people voted to say no..40 billion dollars, that’s unconscionable. It’s immoral. It’s indecent, but the fact is that people still have this mythology that it’s just thirty or forty. No. It’s over one hundred and thirty, a hundred and forty republicans.
So if republicans out there [constituents] care about anything other than tax cuts, about the environment, about a women’s right to choose, or sense of community in our country and, I think they do.. they overwhelmingly support gun safety, immigration [reform] and the rest their really going to have to weigh in.

So it’s not just a small group [of obstruction/sabotage/Cruz et al.]. I think it’s really important to note that.”

While it's true that the 'old guard' is under assault from their RWNJ fringe with some primary challenges, it is their base that they used and freely endorsed if only tacitly at times like now, to do their dirty work

So nothing earth shattering; this post is kind of a ‘for the record’ PSA

I've got to finish up some caulking and stuff and will be back a bit later - thanks for stopping by :)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
